Building Schools for the Future
Building Schools for the Future is a major element of the Government’s ambition to renew schools in England. The programme will transform the way in which education is delivered by providing 21st-century teaching and learning facilities in schools across the country. It intends to see every secondary school rebuilt or refurbished in the next 15 years, with a capital investment programme that will reach over £8 billion a year by 2010-11.
2007 is being called the 'year of delivery' by Partnerships for Schools (PfS), the organisation responsible for delivering the Building Schools for the Future programme. By the end of the year PfS claim that local communities will be able to both see and feel the difference.
